It will be exactly 2 months tomorrow since I married the love of my life, Kevin…and it has taken exactly that long for me to get through all 2000+ professional wedding photos from my friend and talented photographer Shannon Cottrell! It is so fun to see the raw emotions of such an incredible day through these snaps: so much laughter, so much love and a lot of happy tears! Going into the big day I went with the common wedding expectation that ‘things will go wrong and just go with it’, but now I know how silly that is: when you are having fun and so in love, everything just looks and feels perfect! I am especially grateful to have had our wedding be so reflective of both our style and personalities and because of this I am excited to share some of the details with you!

The Bride

The dress I chose for my wedding was the second sample I tried on at the first place I visited. I knew instantly it was the ‘one’,… just like my husband! Jasmine at Lovella Bridal in Glendale made my bridal experience special and personal from the first moment I walked in (crying with my parents)…. till the day I picked up my dress heading to the wedding (crying with my parents) haha. The designer is a New York based creative genius by the name of Edgardo Bonilla who sells at Bergdorfs, Saks and exclusively for Lovella in LA and personally sketched me in the dress when I bought it! What made this dress so special was the opposite of what I went in looking for. In my mind a wedding dress was ‘all about the skirt’, but when I saw this dress hanging all I could see at first was the gorgeous top!

The corseted top with nude lines and silky lace intricately woven atop plus the delicate floral straps literally took my breath away. And then the skirt with tiers of tulle and the long nude sash laying down the side floated when I walked like a cloud: a perfect soft compliment to the edgier corseted top. What I loved about this dress is it spoke to so many things: it had the rocknroll edge of a corset, the soft femininity of delicate lace and florals, the dreamlike movement of a floating full skirt, and most importantly it complimented the setting of the wedding: a sprawling vineyard. After months of fittings I walked out with the dress of my dreams perfectly customized to my body and ready for the big day. A huge thank you is in order to the team at Lovella Bridal for making me feel so amazing each step of the way!

My jeweled floral hair clip, bracelet and earrings were all personally designed and customized with Maria of Ti Adoro Jewelry who was an absolute delight to work with! My shoes were rose gold strappy heels from TopShop and my nails were an off white Ballet Slippers Essie polish with ombré silvery gold glitter tips! Perhaps one of my favorite moments of the night was entering the reception in my own one-of-a-kind white leather moto jacket wedding creation from my friends at Andrew Marc! While planning my own black moto jacket Andrew Marc x Lindsay Luv design collaboration with the Andrew Marc team in NY for the Fall, we decided how cool it would be to create a wedding white version specifically for the big day! Together with the incredible design team we picked the softest white leather and delicate rose gold hardware for the jacket with a blush pink lining and my logo tags on the inside. We shortened the jacket to showcase the corseted waistline of the wedding dress and added two slimming vertical zips in the back. I called it my Gwen Stefani moment of the night and the jacket was a huge hit! (It also was a great deviation from the wedding caplets and shawls that don’t fit my style at all!) A MASSIVE thanks to the design team at Andrew Marc who worked tirelessly to produce this beauty for my big day!

There is no bride without her groom, and while I know they say weddings are ‘all about the bride’ I personally couldn’t take my eyes off my handsome groom, Kevin, all night long! My husband works in fashion so naturally he took his own look quite seriously. Kevin rocked a slim fitting charcoal grey Saint Laurent Suit and tie and Prada shoes from Mario’s in Seattle with an N. Hoolywood Shirt from Fred Segal Man in LA, a J Crew Tie Bar and black Ray Bans. A special thanks to the incredible team at Mario’s for helping him find his own perfect look for the big day! I personally designed his wedding ring and he chose a timeless yellow gold setting while I rocked two diamond bands in a platinum setting fitted on either side of my emerald cut engagement ring.

Celebrating any big occasion is really about who is there to celebrate with you and for our big day we were surrounded by the best friends and family anyone could ask for! Kevin and I are lucky to come from warm and accepting parents who all helped make our big day, and wedding weekend a dream come true. Kevin’s sister Amanda walked as my ‘Sister of Honor’ and his dad Jim married us in a beautiful and personal ceremony complete with our reading of our own vows and with a  quote included from my favorite poet, Pablo Neruda. I danced with my father, Dan, to Neil Young’s Harvest Moon and twerked to some Miley with my mom Deena! Kevin spun his mom Barbara around to Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “A Simple Man”!

Music is clearly everything to me so the whole night was about great tunes and a packed dancefloor. The evening began with my walking down the aisle to our talented friend Jason Land performing Dan Auerbach’s “When The Night Comes” on the guitar and we entered the dancefloor to Manhattan by Kings of Leon followed by our first dance to Etta James classic “At Last“. Our DJ and my dear friend Halle Grano spun all throwbacks and dance hits by the likes of Madonna, Michael Jackson and more songs personally selected by yours truly! I even got on the decks for a minute! My longtime friends The Raveonettes performed three acoustic songs: The Heavens, Young & Cold and Chain Gang of Love while their legendary producer and my mentor, Richard Gottehrer joined in! My homegirl and Spice Girl, Mel B arrived to the wedding on a rocking party bus in-between international work trip flights and my mother and I twerked to Miley Cyrus for the wild crowd! Guests were treated to a custom ‘Soundtrack to our Love Story’ CD gift made by Shannon (@tyvm on Etsy) including tunes like The Yeah Yeah YeahsWedding Song‘ &  The RonettesBe My Baby‘.

The night took place in California’s wine country at Firestone Vineyard in San Ynez but during the wedding weekend we stayed in a gorgeous private rental house in town and had the rehearsal dinner at Firestone Brewery where I wore a one-of-a-kind Moschino dress (thanks to Niko Liakaris) and my friend Ryan Haber‘s  Dominatrix heels. My handsome groom-to-be was rocking an Our Legacy suit and Mason Forte shoes. My mother lent me her Navajo Silver & Turquoise jewelry… something borrowed, something blue…

The night of the wedding at Firestone Vineyards we moved to three different locations during the night starting with an outdoor ceremony over-looking the ripe vineyards, then happy hour appetizers in the Tasting and Barrel rooms, and then the reception in the outdoor Terracotta Courtyard with exposed brick, vines, lanterns and twinkling white lights. Our flawless wedding coordinator Kerry Lee Dickey of Santa Barbara Wine Country Wedding and Events tended to all the details! Dinner included chipotle rubbed pork, grilled farmers market vegetables, goat cheese and watermelon arugula salad, red velvet cupcakes, custom creme brûlée and a steamy champagne toast from Pure Joy Catering with select wines including our favorite Malbec and Chardonnay from Firestone Vineyards and IPA beers from Golden Road Brewery. The gorgeous floral arrangements were blush, green, grey, ivory and violet arrangements provided by Laura Cogan of Passion Flowers.

I love the colour combination, I think the charcoal grey is such a lovely contrast to a white/Ivory dress.
