Stepping into the Andaz hotel property in West Hollywood is a verifiable explosion of the senses: the eclectic rustic vintage meets urban cool meets modern chic interior design assembly provides the perfect backdrop to the eye-catching art dripping from every open space. And with their fingers on the pulse of all things Los Angeles, you can bet that the art finds it’s roots locally: the revolving showcase of Art @ Andaz WeHo features local artists whom the properties own art consultant, Merry Norris, curates and rotates biannually.
As an Andaz Salon Cultural Insider, I am always cool-hunting, and upon walking off the hot streets of the Sunset Strip and through the grand doors of the hotel my eyes were immediately drawn to the opposite wall which was splashed with a massive vintage photograph of the Strip screened directly on the wall. Upon further inquisition I learned this photo was taken by notable photog Robert Landau from his series of ‘RocknRoll Billboards of the Sunset Strip”. The feeling of looking back through time in the very same location so rich with art and music made things feel so very full circle. Check out this #AndazSalon video to learn more!
So many great artists are featured through various art mediums at the Andaz in West Hollywood and the best way to experience them is to go spend some time in their gallery of a hotel! Except unlike most art galleries you can go about your business of eating, sleeping, drinking and swimming all while enjoying the incredible art LA has to offer.
